Arrow Financial will not send paid off letter
|
Apr 8, 2008 Arrow Financial complaint by Khaller |
After paying off Arrow Financial, we tried to get a "paid off" or some kind of debt satisfied letter faxed to us, so we could send it to the mortage company we were trying to get a loan through.
After a week of calling, getting cursed at, getting lied to, and representatives refusing to transfer us to manager, prior Arrow reps. we had delt with who knew the situation, we're about at wits end.
This debt has been paid! Yet they will not provide any acknowledgement of payment.that it has been paid.
Anyone have any lawyer recommendations near Annapolis, MD?

Collector....you sound like the a$$ hole I always end up talking to at Arrow. He keeps me on the phone for 20 minutes and argues with me and tells me if I can come up with the money to fix my truck that I recently wrecked then I can come up with the money to pay right now. Well having to pay $400 a week for rental car and trying to save to fix my truck.....there just isn't any more lee-way.
Grow up and get a real job.

The 30 day hold is thanks to prior debtors using a credit card or electronic check to pay their debt and then disputing the charge, thus revoking the payment. Because of this, there is a 30 day wait on letters (since you have 30 days to dispute a charge). If you settle an account, you can request a settled in full letter (or letter 74 if you call us). If you pay the balance in full, you can request a paid in full letter (letter 73). Letters are NOT automatically generated and must be requested. We can fax letters, too, or do both. No e-mails though, as it is not a secure method of communication. I'd give my direct extension, but I'd probably get fired.

Collector - you are full of it... I paid Arrow Financial at the end of April 2008 and have yet to see any type of letter. I have called and sent proof of payment from bank and still nada... Cover you a$$ my a$$, how about just being complete jerks..... It didn't take you 30 days to get money out of my account... It should take no longer than 7 days to see if the money is good or not.
I have called and called and get the same run around... I will start calling twice a day until I will get my letter.... I will harrassed them like they harrass me... After two weeks, I'm going to the Attorney's General and the media.

I know what you are going through. I paid my debt to them off back in July of 2007, and have called at least twice a month to get the satisfaction letter. I still have nothing. I feel like i've been lied to, but boy did they take my money, and were nice enough to send me a 1098 for my taxes to show what the difference in the settlement amount was---so i could actually have the pleasure of OWING on my taxes this year, rather than getting a refund. If anyone has a good name there to contact, as it seems like their people come and go like wait staff people...it might help me find someone to actually get me my letter.

If you're still having problems, contact Bud Hibbs at www.budhibbs.com. He's a consumer advocate.
Also, contact the National Association of Consumer Advocates to find an attorney in your area who specializes in dealing with these matters. Their website is www.naca.org, or something like that. Hope this helps.

I had trouble getting an agreement letter from them as well. My money was bankdrafted each month. I wanted an agreement letter, and a final pay off letter. Each time I called, they said it was in the mail. After 60 days I finally got the agreement letter faxed to me. I am hoping soon to get the Debt Paid off letter.
Sometimes things happen in life. I got behind bills because I had cancer, and my medical bills were extremely high. When faced with the choice of paying a credit card debt, or life saving treatment, I chose the treatment.

Dude I work at Arrow and you know that's full of ***. If your payment came in and was posted (so, in other words, if you check didn't bounce or your credit card didn't get rejected), we'd give you a letter. There is a 30 day hold on letters to make sure payments post. You're in debt collections... we need to cover our *** to make sure you money is good. Call back after 30 days from the payment and ask for a satisfaction letter. You'll get one.
